NFL Betting – Texans Look To Flex Muscle Week One; Bills Will Contend

Week one of the regular season is finally here, and while it may seem like it has been forever since we watched the Green Bay Packers blow past the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Super Bowl, NFL betting lines’ fans have to be relieved that their favorite sport is back. Here is a quick look at a couple of favorable lines for this weekend.

Buffalo Bills @ Kansas City Chiefs (-5)
Sunday, 1:00 PM ET

The Bills won’t trick anyone in to thinking that they are Super Bowl contenders, but they do appear ready to take another step forward in year two under head coach Chan Gailey. Buffalo opens in a tough environment playing the Chiefs on the road, but the fact that Kansas City will be without Matt Cassell means that they will be at a disadvantage, and five points is a lot to cover for a team without their franchise quarterback. The Bills won't be contenders this sports betting season, but they should be able to keep this one close week one.

NFL Betting Pick: Buffalo Bills +5

Indianapolis Colts @ Houston Texans (-8.5)
Sunday, 1:00 PM ET

The Colts gave us a preview of what life is like in Indianapolis without Peyton Manning under center this preseason, and it wasn’t pretty. Manning isn’t practicing this week and his condition is said to have regressed, and you have to appreciate just how much of a disadvantage that puts the Colts at. Houston has improved on both sides of the ball in each of the past two years, and it appears as though the Texans are finally ready to challenge for an AFC South title.

NFL Betting Pick: Houston Texans – 8.5
