It's never too soon to get your NFL betting guide out (or college football betting guide) and start handicapping the new season. Let's face it, football is king and the new season is just around the corner. Here are some news and notes from around the league. Brian Cushing Keeps Rookie of the Year Award After Re-Vote Brian Cushing will be suspended for the first four games of the 2010 season and while the sports betting lines will have to be adjusted when we get to Week 1, the rules state that if a player wins an award and is found to be using performance enhancing drugs, there has to be a re-vote. So that re-vote took place and Cushing was still rewarded a second time. He did have a phenomenal year but this positive test does cast a shadow of doubt on the up-and-coming star. Dolphins Will Move Smiley Soon The Miami Dolphins don't like Justin Smiley. For whatever reason, he is no longer in their plans and they are going to move him. For a while, he had no idea when he would be traded or released but it looks like it will happen soon. Smiley hired agent Drew Rosenhaus to kickstart the movements and it looks like it will work. The Dolphins are expected to make a move next week. Redskins Disappointed With Haynesworth
Just one year after signing a $100+ million contract with the Redskins, it looks like defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth could be playing for a new team this year - or not playing at all. Redskins owner Dan Snyder voiced his "disappointment" with Haynesworth and he's just the next in line to say it. Everyone is disappointed at this time. You don't need to be a legend sport book bettor to know that Haynesworth will not win a showdown with Mike Shanahan. Stay tuned. |
