NFL Betting – Johnsons Holding Out For More Money

NFL betting players always have to worry about players holding out for new contracts, and two of the best young players in the league look like that's the way they're headed.

Chris Johnson

The Offensive Player of the Year last season, Johnson has three years left on his current deal, but he's only set to earn $550,000 next year, which is a lot to you and me, but not even close to what Johnson should be making. He's not even close to being the best-paid player on his team, and Johnson is still only turning 25 as of September. This may seem greedy by Johnson, but the shelf life of an NFL running back isn't that long, and with the pounding that they take, Johnson needs to get his money while he can.

Andre Johnson

The talented Houston receiver has five years left on his deal, which makes his position a bit tougher to defend, especially as he'll make $5.8 million this season. The four-time Pro Bowler also had his first contract extended with two years left, so he's looking to do it again, but he would do well to sit on it for at least another year. Another Pro Bowl season can't do anything but help his stock, and with the Texans improving, Johnson could be in line for his best season. The Texans are getting closer and closer to making the playoffs, and if they're going to be a solid betting darkhorse, they need all of their players, especially Johnson, on the same page.
